We have some last minute major data model changes, and then a security audit, and then we launch alpha!

On April 9 Felt got its first backer on Open Collective.

Added support for dark color schemes and custom themes in felt-ui.

Added a Roles and Permissions system that sets the stage for shared control and democratic participation.

Added a View to Spaces for collaborative drawing with felt-mural.

Added three new Views with threaded messages: ReplyChat, Boards, and Forum.

Added badges to Spaces and Hubs to indicate when they have new activity.

Published the helpfully pendantic @feltjs/eslint-config.

Added the first non-chat View to Felt, a simple Todo list.

Added the generic Entity data system that backs Views in Spaces.

Spent the winter months paying down all the tech debt it took to get us to MVP.

On September 7 Felt was deployed to the cloud for the first time.

We made this 5 minute experience comparing hypothetical onboarding situations with help from Jane Im and her work on consentful.systems.

Added the multi-Actor system, originally "personas".

Added the Space data model and the first View, Chat.

Added the data model for Hubs, originally "communities".

Added the Account system so we can sign up and in and out.

On April 5th Hamilton and Ryan begin development on the main felt repo full-time!

Created the first @feltjs repos.

Headsdown with brainstorming, planning, and technical prep.

Documented our governance as a Temporary Benevolent Dictator (TBD).

Felt was mentioned in the Wired article "The JavaScript Framework That Puts Web Pages on a Diet".

Published the technical article "Why Svelte is our choice for a large web project in 2020".

Released an interactive mockup for our Start.coop application.

Our first time pitching the project. We didn't get in, but the experience was invaluable.

Work on the Felt project begins in earnest.
